Hotels in Oslo are located mostly in the city centre and near common tourist attractions. Oslo accommodation ranges from budget bed-and-breakfasts to expensive five-star hotels. Most of these are equipped with basic living facilities for short- and long-term stays.

Oslo offers a variety of five-star, four-star, three-star, and two-star hotels both for budget and luxury travellers. The city's luxury hotels are usually located in the city centre, or very near Oslo's shopping centres, restaurants, and museums. They offer facilities like swimming pools, saunas, bars, gyms, and parking. The city's less expensive accommodation is normally found farther from the city centre. This is usually smaller hotels and so-called bed and breakfast inns.
Regardless of accommodation type, students and visitors are encouraged to book their accommodation in advance, especially during the peak season.
Student Accommodation
The university operates 11 student residence halls and villages in Oslo and around the city. These residence halls can accommodate up to 7,500 students and are mostly composed of single study rooms arranged in clusters, where students share kitchens and bathrooms. For students with families, the university also offers over 500 flats. Student accommodation is equipped with basic furniture such as a bed, desk, and wardrobe. Students are encouraged to bring their own curtains, linen, and other small appliances.
